4.7 magnitude earthquake hits eastern Turkey's Malatya

A magnitude 4.7 earthquake jolted Turkey's eastern province of Malatya on Nov. 27, according to the nation's disaster agency. The earthquake occurred at the depth of 6.9 kilometers at 11.27 a.m. local time in the Pütürge district, said the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

A magnitude 4.7 earthquake jolted eastern Turkey on Nov. 27, according to the nation's disaster agency.

The earthquake occurred at the depth of 6.9 kilometers at 11.27 a.m. local time in the Pütürge district of Malatya province, said the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD). 

Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute on the other hand reported the magnitude of the earthquake as 4.9. 

Malatya Gov. Aydın Baruş said that there had been no reports of damages or injuries so far, though the situation is still being monitored.
