167 migrants struggling to breathe rescued from back of lorry in Turkey's north
A total of 167 migrants struggling to breathe were rescued from the back of a lorry in the Tekkeköy district of the northern province of Samsun on Aug. 18. The migrants, who were determined to be hungry and thirsty, will be deported.

A total of 167 migrants struggling to breathe were rescued from the back of a lorry in the Tekkeköy district of the northern province of Samsun on Aug. 18.
Police stopped the lorry for regular road controls and noticed that it was carrying migrants, who tore up the tarpaulin behind the lorry to be able to breathe. They were also determined to be hungry and thirsty.
The migrants were then taken to a sports hall for medical checks and the driver of the lorry was detained.
Samsun Governor Zülkif Dağlı said that the migrants are from Afghanistan and Pakistan, adding that they will be deported when the procedures are complete.
