The corpse of a child wearing two dragon-headed bracelets was found in the 2,750-year-old necropolis in Turkey's southeastern province of Van.
Found in a necropolis where aristocrats are buried, the corpse was also seen wearing accessories around the neck.
Dating back to 8th-century B.C. Urartu Kingdom, the bronze dragon bracelets were the first of their kind to be recovered in the area.
The corpse of the three year old was a first in the excavation, and the necropolis remains mysterious, Van Yüzüncü Yıl professor and excavation head Prof. Rafet Çavuşoğlu said.
The child's body was found with a small bowl for sacrifices near the head, which indicated they were high-born, Çavuşoğlu added.
