Building collapse in eastern Turkey leaves several injured

A two-storey building collapsed in Turkey's eastern province of Malatya on Nov. 9, burying several people under heavy debris. Turkey's AFAD teams have so far rescued 13 people but are searching for signs of other survivors. Locals said that a renovation was taking place at a shop located on the ground floor of the building and a pillar was demolished during the works.

At least 13 people were injured when a two-story building collapsed in Turkey’s eastern province of Malatya on Nov. 9.

According to a statement by the local authorities, the injured people were rescued from the collapsed building by the units from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
