A common swift, a close relative of the hummingbird, was rescued by fire deputies in the southeastern province of Kahramanmaraş.

The swift was caught in the pulley mechanism of a store shutter when college student Izzet Teke saw it.

Upon Teke's report, fire deputies came to the bird's rescue.

The officers noticed the swift was injured, so they took it to a vet.

The swift received treatment and was then released into the wild.
