Fire devours one fifth of village in northeastern Turkey

A fire that started from an unknown source in northeastern Artvin's Dereiçi village destroyed some 35 homes, almost one fifth of the 176-resident settlement on March 17. No casualties were reported immediately after, although villagers said that at least 20 of their animals died.
