Gezi prisoner Can Atalay to enter parliament once parliamentary election results finalized

Lawyer Can Atalay, who is currently in Silivri Prison, will be released from jail once the election results are finalized.

According to election result data as of 10.40 p.m., the Workers’ Party of Turkey (TİP) received 44,792 votes. According to this result, Can Atalay is being elected as a parliamentarian as he was the first MP nominee for TİP in the quake-hit Hatay.

Atalay had received 18 years in jail in the Gezi Park trial finalized last year.
