Istanbul Ecumenical Patriarchate's eminent photographer Nikos Manginas, one of the closest collaborators of Patriarch Bartholomew, has passed away at the age of 68 due to a heart attack.

The eminent photographer of the Istanbul Ecumenical Patriarchate, Nikos Manginas, died at the age of 68 on April 10, daily Agros reported.
Manginas was laid to rest at Şişli Greek Orthodox Cemetry with a ceremony on April 13.
Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, informed of the sudden death of his close collaborator, performed a memorial service for the deceased.
Manginas' death was caused by a heart attack. He had recently overcome the COVID-19 disease.
Nikos Manginas, a native of Istanbul, loved the art of photography from his very young age.
After graduating from Istanbul Zographeion High School, he went to Athens to attend college. He later came back to Istanbul and took on a job as a photographer at the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
He has systematically captured the action and work of Patriarch Bartholomew, accompanying him on his visits around the world.
One of his close friends named Laki Vingas has described Manginas as “The Ara Güler of the Church Life.”
