Netherlands adds Turkey to 'high' Covid-19 travel risk list
The Netherlands has added Turkey to its “high-risk” travel destination category for Covid-19, amid a steep rise in the number of Omicron cases in the country.

The Dutch government has added Turkey to its list of “high-risk” destinations for travelers, BBC Turkish reported on Feb. 7.
The other countries that the Dutch government added to the list are Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, North Macedonia, Lebanon, Tunisia, Costa Rica, Panama, Guyana, Bolivia, and Surinam.
The Dutch government reimposed mandatory quarantine for travelers arriving from these 12 countries, but people who received a booster vaccine at least seven days before traveling will be exempt from the 10-day quarantine period.
All travelers will have to produce a negative test result from either a PCR test taken in the previous 48 hours or an antigen test taken in the previous 24 hours.
Turkey on Feb. 7 reported 96,514 coronavirus cases and 236 related deaths. To counter the spread of the virus, Turkiye has administered over 143.12 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines since it launched an immunization drive in January 2021.
