No Turkish universities rank in top 100 of global higher education survey

No Turkish universities ranked in the top 100 of the global education survey Shanghai Ranking in 2020. Meanwhile, eleven schools ranked among the top 1,000, with Istanbul University at the top. Ankara University, Ankara's Bilkent University, Middle Eastern Technical University (ODTÜ) and Gazi University also ranked in the list.

None of the universities in Turkey made it into the top 100 of the "Shanghai Ranking" in 2020, while eleven higher education institutions made it in the ranking that surveys some 2,000 colleges worldwide.

Istanbul University was the highest-ranking Turkish university in Shanghai Ranking’s Academic Ranking of World Universities in 2020, ranking in the 400s out of the top thousand schools.

Hacettepe University, located in Ankara, followed in the 600s along with Istanbul Technical University, followed by İzmir's Dokuz Eylül and Ege universities.

Ankara University, Ankara's Bilkent University, Middle Eastern Technical University (ODTÜ) and Gazi University also ranked in the list.

Central Anatolian Kayseri's Erciyes University and Istanbul's Marmara University followed.

Ivy-league Harvard University, Stanford University and United Kingdom's Cambridge University were the top three schools in the Shanghai Ranking.
