One dead in gunfight between waste collectors in Ankara

One person was reported dead after a gunfight broke out among paper waste collectors in the capital Ankara, local agencies reported on May 20.

A man named Mehmet Sincar was reported dead after being shot with a shotgun in a street fight that broke out between two groups of paper waste collectors in the capital Ankara, local outlets reported on May 20.

Eight people were detained after the fight that broke out around noon in the Cevizlidere neighborhood about a turf disagreement.

"This is my turf, you can't collect paper here," Sincar reportedly told the other group of collectors. 

The incident quickly accelerated and Sincar was injured with a shotgun and died at the hospital.
