One dies after tourist boat capsizes off Mediterranean Antalya coast

One person died as a tourist boat capsized off the coast of Mediterranean Antalya's Alanya district on Nov. 3. According to local media, there were 37 people on board the vessel.

One person died as a tourist boat capsized off Alanya in Turkey’s southern Antalya province on Nov. 3, state-run Anadolu Agency said.

According to local media, there were 37 people on board the vessel.

"They were unable to get out of a tight space at the time of the accident," Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel said.

The boat was reportedly sailing 50-100 meters off the coast around Alanya Castle Fosforlu Cave when it capsized from an unknown cause.

Turkish Coast Guard personnel are currently evacuating the stranded boat passengers.
