Russia sends military cargo to Syria through Bosphorus

The Russian Defense Ministry has sent military cargo to Syria through the Bosphorus, maritime and aviation expert and Duvar English contributor Yörük Işık said on Twitter. Russian forces in Syria have relying on the Bosphorus as a major supply route between their home ports in the Black Sea and their base in Tartus.

The heavily laden ships were headed to Syria's Tartus from Novorossiysk, he also said.

The Bosphorus connects the Mediterranean to the Black Sea, and passes directly through Istanbul. Russian forces in Syria have been relying on it as a major supply route between their home ports in the Black Sea and their base in Tartus.

On May 28, Russia also sent trucks and military cargo to Tartus.
