Journalist Fatih Altaylı has said that he talked with Sinan Oğan, one of the presidential candidates in the first round, and that the politician would announce whom he will support on Monday.

“We have just now talked with Sinan Oğan. He said, ‘We have talked with both of the leaders (Erdoğan and Kılıçdaroğlu). We haven’t yet given a decision. We will announce our decision on Monday. Except that, the allegations of ‘he has made an agreement with this (person) or supports that (person)’ does not reflect the truth,” Altaylı tweeted.

Ultra-nationalist ATA (Ancestral) alliance’s candidate Oğan received 5.2 percent of the votes in the May 14 presidential election and finished third. And now whether Oğan will support President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan or Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu for the May 28 election is a matter of curiosity. Oğan was expected to make his decision public on May 19, but delayed his announcement.

As no candidate was able to win an outright majority in the May 14 vote, a second-round runoff will be held on May 28.
