Top Turkish cleric’s daughter complains about not taking vacation abroad due to sliding lira
The daughter of Diyanet head Ali Erbaş has complained about not being able to take her children abroad for vacation in the face of the unstoppable devaluation of the Turkish lira. These remarks came as Ali Erbaş has been advising people to endure poverty and hunger with “patience.”

The daughter of the head of Turkey’s Religious Affairs Directorate (Diyanet) has complained about not being able to go abroad for vacation due to the devaluation of the Turkish lira.
Ali Erbaş’s daughter Feyza Erbaş, an English teacher by profession, shared on social media a picture of her three children at the airport, on their way to the Aegean holiday resort Bodrum.
She wrote that her eight-year-old daughter has so far visited 13 countries and her five-year-old son two countries, according to reporting by the daily Sözcü.
As for her three-year-old son, Feyza Erbaş wrote that she has not yet taken him abroad for vacation since 1 euro is almost equal to 30 liras.
In reference to him, she wrote: “Euro is unfortunately 30 TL; wherever you can see in our heavenly home country. Do not make any fuss.”
