Turkey inoculated only 10 mln people in 4 months, vaccine shortage ensues

Turkey only vaccinated a little over 10 million people with the COVID-19 vaccine in the past four months of inoculations, state data showed on May 6. The Turkish Medical Association (TTB) said that this number is a mere 10 percent of the population, whereas at least 70 percent is required for herd immunity.

Turkey's Health Ministry data showed that only a little over 10 million had received both shots of the COVID-19 vaccine since mid-January, when the country started inoculations, while a little over 14 million had received at least one shot.
