Main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) head Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu received a COVID-19 vaccination on Feb. 12, when his turn in the priority list arrived.

Kılıçdaroğlu had criticized President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, members of his ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and government ally Devlet Bahçeli for overriding the priority system for the vaccinations and receiving the treatment early on during inoculations.

"We got our turn, and my wife Ms. Selvi and I received our COVID-19 shots at our family practitioner's office," Kılıçdaroğlu wrote on Twitter.

Turkey began vaccinations on Jan. 14, starting with healthcare workers. Some 2.88 million have received the shot since then, the Health Ministry reported.
