Turkey's unfinished Akkuyu nuclear plant not damaged by quake: Rosatom
The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, currently under construction in Turkey's southern Mersin province, has reportedly not been damaged by a 7.7-magnitude earthquake that rocked the southeastern region and inflicted severe damage to the country's energy infrastructure.

Turkey's Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which is currently under construction in the southern Mersin province, was not damaged by a major earthquake that struck the region on Feb. 6, said an official from the Russian company building the plant.
"Earth tremors of about magnitude 3 were felt here... but our specialists have not revealed any damage to building structures, cranes and equipment," said Anastasia Zoteeva from Russia's state nuclear energy company Rosatom.
"Nevertheless, we are carrying out extensive diagnostic measures to make sure that construction and installation operations can continue safely," the RIA news agency quoted her as saying.
A major earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Turkey's southern province of Kahramanmaraş early on Feb. 6, leading to at least 912 deaths. Authorities have declared a "level 4 alarm" that calls for international assistance.
