Turkish football players batter their own team's assistant coach

1022 Konyaspor footballers have battered their own team's assistant coach after he slammed the players for the game they played.

Turkish football players of 1022 Konyaspor have battered their own team's assistant coach after he slammed the players for losing the game 2-1 against Zonguldak Kömürspor. 

Mesut Ertekin, who is also the club's manager, was infuriated after the team was defeated and scolded the players on the field on Dec. 5.

Ertekin was then removed from the field by police and was taken to the locker room. The assistant coach reportedly insulted the players there. 

Infuriated by the insults, the players battered Ertekin, who passed out as a result. 

He was taken to a hospital for treatment.
