Turkish police chief threatens protesting workers with ‘future of their children’
Turkish police attacked protesting workers who were dismissed for being union members, and the police chief threatened them, saying, "If I detain you and take judicial action, your child cannot get a job even if they are smart!”

Turkish police on Sept. 9 attacked the fired factory workers, injured at least six of them, and threatened them with the “future of their children.”
At least 145 workers who were dismissed from the Polonez company’s food factory after organizing against harsh working conditions and low wages and joining the Tek Gıda-İş Union have been protesting for 53 days.
Suat Karlıkaya from Tekgıda-İş union shared on his X account the moments when Çatalca District police chief told the workers, “If I detain you and take judicial action, your child cannot get a job even if they are smart!”
As the protest continued, the police attacked the workers, injuring six workers.
