Two Turkish sisters die of COVID-19 within 15 minutes of each other

Two sisters have died of COVID-19 within 15 minutes of each other in Turkey's Samsun.

Two sisters in Turkey's Black Sea province of Samsun have died of COVID-19 within 15 minutes of each other.

Elif Aydın Yamak, 36, a laboratory technician at Çarşamba State Hospital and her sister İlknur Ünal, 43, who worked at the hospital’s canteen, were buried side by side, Demirören News Agency reported on Oct. 20. 

The sisters started receiving treatment at home a month and a half ago after testing positive for COVID-19. But as their condition deteriorated, they were both admitted to Çarşamba State Hospital.

After having been placed in intensive care, Elif Aydın Yamak and İlknur Ünal passed away on Oct. 19, within 15 minutes of each other.

The two sisters were both married. İlknur Ünal was the mother of four children, while Elif Aydın Yamak leaves a child behind.
