Two Turkish soldiers die during shooting practice in Hakkari

Two soldiers died during shooting practice in the southeastern province of Hakkâri. Two other soldiers were transported to the hospital to receive treatment for injuries inflicted during shooting practice.

Two soldiers died and two others were injured during shooting practice in the southeastern province of Hakkari.

"On Jan.15, two of our heroic comrades in arms have fallen martyr during shooting practice, and two others were transported to the hospital for injuries they sustained in Hakkâri's Çukurca district," said the statement by the Defense Ministry.

The soldiers' bodies were transported to the nearby city of Van to then be sent to their hometowns.

Contract infantry soldier Sait Miyanyedi, 25, had reported to his post in Hakkâri three months ago. Tolga Kaplan was 28 years old.
