Widely disliked tower, dubbed 'symbol of Istanbul' by gov't, opens

Yet another widely criticized construction project by the ruling AKP, Istanbul's much-disliked new satellite tower Çamlıca Tower opened on June 1. Ankara's attempts to brand the structure the symbol of Istanbul were met with ridicule and protest, with many social media users mocking the bizarre design of the tower.
