The conversion of Hagia Sophia back into a mosque, when analyzed together with the demand of some government circles to withdraw from the Council of Europe’s convention on preventing and combating violence against women and the passage of a recent law which carries the potential to turn social media in Turkey into an open prison, raised suspicions regarding President Erdoğan's game plan.
