In this week's episode of Zeitgeist Turkey, Duvar English Editor-in-chief Cansu Çamlıbel and pollster Can Selçuki dissect a recent survey from Istanbul Ekonomi about Turkey's youth: their hopes and dreams, and of course, their unemployment.

Noting that optimistic estimates show that at least one fourth of the country's youth are unemployed, Selçuki says that, as of 2020, Turkey is failing to actualize the Turkish Republic's founding promise of equal opportunity for all.

As Turkish youth now find themselves chronically unemployed with grim prospects for the future, they're reluctant to vote for anyone in the existing political leadership, but could become agents of change if an inspiring champion succeeds in re-sparking their hopes.
