Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and main opposition Nation Alliance's vice presidential candidate Mansur Yavaş said he will not use municipality facilities and will not receive his salary until the election date of May 14.

Main opposition Republican People's Party's (CHP) mayor Yavaş told broadcaster TV100 on April 8 that "Since we will start election propaganda tours, I will not receive any salary from the municipality from April 10 until May 14, I will take a leave of absence. From that day on, I will not use municipal facilities. We will participate in programs with Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, Ms. Meral Akşener and sometimes Mr. Ekrem İmamoğlu (CHP's Istanbul Mayor)."

Yavaş is on the presidential ticket with Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu as vice presidential candidates of Nation Alliance. CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is the presidential candidate of the main opposition bloc. Five other leaders of the alliance will also be vice presidents should they assume power.

After the candidacy decision regarding him was made public, Yavaş created a new account in addition to the Twitter account he had used until then, and said "Due to our administrative approach, I will continue to use this account only for announcements and activities related to Ankara. I kindly ask you to follow our new social media accounts for our operations during the election process."
