Ankara Municipality will be paying electricity bills for households who had their power cut off because they couldn't afford it, in an attempt to allow for students to keep up with remote school work.
"We decided to cover power bills for families who receive state aid, who had their power cut because they couldn't afford their bill, and whose kids are unable to login to remote classes as a result," Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş tweeted on April 11.

The municipality will continue to do everything in their power to make sure no students are left behind in school, the mayor added.
Yavaş has a special interest in providing cellular data across the capital Ankara, and the mayor has worked extensively to provide public access across the city.
