Azeri military helicopter makes emergency landing on beach in northern Turkey

A helicopter that belongs to the Azerbaijani Air Forces was forced to make an emergency landing on a beach in the Black Sea province of Giresun on May 20 due to an engine failure.

A helicopter of the Azerbaijani Air Forces was forced to make an emergency landing in the Black Sea province of Giresun at around 7 p.m. on May 20 after an engine malfunction. 

The helicopter landed on Yalıköy Beach in Tirebolu district with six personnel onboard during a military exercise.  

The helicopter was en route to Merzifon Airbase in northern Amasya, and nobody was injured in the forced landing.

"There were two helicopters, the other one continued onto Merzifon. The six personnel will be our guests in Tirebolu," said Giresun Governor Enver Ünlü.
