Istanbul Municipality has prepared informative videos on coronavirus (COVID-19) in Turkish, Kurdish, English, Persian and Arabic as part of its efforts to curb the spread of the highly contagious virus. The videos are currently being screened on public transportation and displays.

Istanbul Municipality has prepared informative videos on coronavirus (COVID-19) in five different languages as part of its efforts to curb the spread of the highly contagious virus.

The animation videos were prepared in Turkish, Kurdish, English, Persian and Arabic, aiming to reach as many people living in Istanbul as possible.

The videos are currently being screened on public transportation and displays.

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, meanwhile, announced a series of measures against the virus on March 20.

İmamoğlu said that the practice of 24/7 transportation will be temporarily suspended.

"We will make some changes in our transportation strategy," he told reporters, adding that the number of public transportation trips will be decreased.

"We will decrease the number of trips except for the rush hours," İmamoğlu said.

The mayor noted that all the public transportation vehicles in the city will be disinfected, adding that 35 ambulances belonging to the municipality were equipped for coronavirus.
