The head of the medical chamber in the western province of Aydın, Dr. Esat Ülkü, has died of COVID-19, the Turkish Medical Association (TTB) said on Oct. 13.
Ülkü, 67, had been receiving treatment at a hospital since Oct. 3.
"We are very sad. We lost not only our colleague, but an award-winning photograph artist. He will accompany us with his memory and art," TTB chair Şebnem Korur Fincancı said.
"We are at where words fail. Our pain is indescribable," the TTB said.
