The novel coronavirus has forced museums to shut their doors temporarily. But, Istanbul's contemporary art museum Arter is now offering an exciting insight into some of its exhibits, at no cost and with a guide.

These virtual tours will be held every week, the first of which will take place on May 22 between 6.30 p.m. - 7.15 p.m.

Those wishing to participate in these tours need to send an email to ogrenme@arter.org.tr and reserve their spot.

Arter's building, designed by London-based firm Grimshaw Architects, is covered with a mosaic of rectangular planes of glass-fiber. The building, located in Istanbul's historical neighborhood of Dolapdere, is Turkey's first home to a permanent collection of contemporary art.

The museum has been funded by the Koç family, who have acted as sponsors of the Istanbul Biennial for the last 15 years.
