The leader of a nationalist party in Turkey has said that their prayers are with the Turkish delegation in the U.S., as he voiced his support for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

"The oppressors will retreat with oppressed hearts' pounding. Today, our prayers are with the Turkish delegation in the U.S.," Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli said on Nov. 13 - the same day that Erdoğan is set to meet U.S. President Donald Trump amid tense relations between the two NATO allies.

"The entire world should know that the Turkish people are with Erdoğan. The MHP backs Turkey's historical rights and interests and is a supporter of Erdoğan. Turkey stands as one no matter the results of the meeting in the U.S.," he added.

Saying that God stands with and helps the righteous, Bahçeli noted that the attempts to intimidate Turkey with sanctions "will definitely lose."

In his written statement, Bahçeli said that Turkey is the "target of very dangerous and barbaric scenarios," adding that the U.S. serves the destruction of Syria and Iraq via "controlled instability and crisis triggering."

MHP leader also said that the price of turning Turkey into Bolivia would be heavy, referring to the recent political crisis in the South American country.

"As the regional and global developments have gone off the rails and the sneaky siege around our country have toughened, our president's meeting with Trump has gained further meaning and importance," he said, adding that opening the visit up for discussion is unfair to Turkey.

Saying that Turkish people are "united against the world," Bahçeli noted that those "who stand with the righteous against the immoral will win no matter what happens."
