Turkish police have detained a woman for attacking her husband's workplace with a Molotov cocktail, with the woman citing the man's violent behavior against her as the motive of the attack.

The woman, identified only by the initials as A.T., was detained after police determined that she was the one who attacked the car wash belonging to her husband, identified as Arif T., in the Black Sea province of Amasya.

Police acted on a call regarding a Molotov cocktail attack on a car wash and examined the footage from surrounding security cameras, before determining that three individuals in masks threw a Molotov cocktail into the business, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Nov. 11.

In her testimony, A.T. claimed that Arif T. was abusive.

"My husband beat me. I told him 'I am going to burn your business down.' I called my friends and we did it," the woman said, prompting police to detain two of her friends as well.
