Price of Turkey's agricultural goods rises by 18 percent since last year

The price of agricultural products increased by 18 percent over the past year.

Turkey's official Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced in October 2019 its Agricultural Products Producer Price Index (PPI/ÜFE) data.

Agriculture-PPI saw an increase of 1.7 percent compared to September this year, an increase of 11.64 compared to December last year, an increase of 18.22 compared to October last year and an overall 22.64 percent increase in comparison to the 12-month average.

Since last month, the price of agricultural and hunting products rose by 1.88 percent while the prices of forestry and fishing equipment increased by 0.9 and 2.57 percent, respectively.

Within the same time frame, with regards to fundamental products, the price of crops rose by 7.67 percent, that of livestock and animal products increased by 0.98 while that of herbal products decreased by 0.34 percent.

Among sub-agricultural categories, soft core and hard core fruits saw a 9.6 percent increase. The price of other farm animals and animal products rose by 2 percent, and that of grains, legumes and oil seeds by 0.2 percent. Rice became 2 percent cheaper and the value of citrus fruits decreased by 0.9 percent.

Of the 92 categories covered in the October report; 10 new categories were added this month, 41 categories increased in price, 36 categories got cheaper and 5 categories remained at the same level.
