The ALLY for Future Leadership Program for Young Muslim Women -- a project initiated by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services  -- has cost the government 1,163,000 Turkish Liras (approximately $198,000), daily Birgün reported on Dec. 17.

On Nov. 25, a tender was held for the organization services, with Global Turizm Company winning the bid.

A total of 50 participants aged between 18-30 from 37 countries are attending the eight-day-long program taking place at Vahdettin Pavilion in Istanbul.

The program kicked off on Dec. 13, with the attendance of Turkish First Lady Emine Erdoğan and her two daughters Esra Albayrak and Sümeyye Erdoğan. The event will last until Dec. 20.

The authorities say that the program aims “to develop leadership capacity of young Muslim women across the World, to broaden their vision, to equip them with the tools and skills necessary to face the challenges of future, and to create a lifelong network of solidarity.”

“Training will be given and presentations and activities will be held regarding the topics of leadership, communication, technology, culture, arts, women rights, entrepreneurship, project development and project management,” Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk has said.

This is the second time that the ministry is holding this leadership program. The first one, held in 2017, had costed the government 2,494,000 million liras. The authorities had again tendered out the organization services.
