In 2019, Turkey experienced the highest number of confirmed measles cases since 2013 with a total of 2,719 cases, according to data from the World Health Organization.
The highest number of cases this year were reported in May with 605 cases confirmed. No cases were reported in November or December.
Turkey experienced a measles epidemic in 2013 when 7,415 cases were confirmed. The total number of confirmed cases in the past years have been 572 in 2014, 342 in 2015, 9 in 2016, 70 in 2017 and 781 in 2018.
