A fishing boat clashed with a tanker off the shore of Kumköy/Rumelifeneri, two villages located on Istanbul’s Black Sea coast, resulting in the death of three fishermen on Jan. 10.

The bodies of the three missing fishermen were recovered around 3 p.m., nearly nine hours after the crash.

The crash caused fishing boat Dursun Ali Coşkun to sink, and three of the six fishermen abroad were rescued immediately after, the Istanbul Governor said.

Russian tanker Glard 2 crashed about five kilometers off shore, where the depth of water averages around 40 meters.
