A rocket attack was carried out on a vehicle belonging to Gürbulak Customs Office near the Iranian border in the eastern province of Ağrı on March 2.
Turkish Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan has said that one personnel was killed in the attack.
"As a result of the treacherous attack on a vehicle carrying our Gürbulak Customs Office personnel, one personnel was martyred," Pekcan tweeted.
Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said that the assailants were "cornered" and clashes are ongoing.
"A rocket that was fired on an armored vehicle carrying Ağrı Gürbulak Customs Office personnel hit its front tire at 8:50 a.m. There are injuries," Soylu tweeted.
"The terrorists were tracked and cornered. Clashes are ongoing," he also said.
A number of ambulances, fire department teams and gendarmerie units were dispatched to the scene.
The road leading to the border gate with Iran was closed following the attack.
