A representative of the Beyoğlu Üç Horon Armenian Church Foundation in Istanbul made an official complaint to a prosecutor's office to establish precautions against hate speech by a social media user who identified as "King Pekinkaya" ("Kral Pekinkaya" in Turkish).

Online news portal Jurnal Turkiye reported on Aug. 17 that Facebook user "Kral Pekinkaya" made hate comments against those whom he specifically identified as "not just Armenians who are from Armenia but also Armenians who live in Turkey."

"We will fight legally until the end against the person who is responsible for this hate speech," said Simon Çeken the chairwoman of the Beyoğlu Üç Horon Armenian Church Foundation and a lawyer.

The lawyer had previously urged authorities to take precautions against social media personality Murat Övüç who was creating hate speech about Armenians.
