Five people were wounded when a drunk driver hit them as they were sitting at a roadside café in western vacation destination Datça on Aug. 27.

Driven by a 17-year-old, the car drove over the roadside barriers, hitting the five people at the table, including two toddlers.

One-year-old Liya Çakır, three-year-old Sare Çakır, their parents and a family friend were taken to the nearby state hospital by ambulance.

The mother Selin Çakır, 27, was dragged underneath the car, and is reportedly in critical condition, while the other four are in non-critical condition.

The 17-year-old driver reportedly doesn't have a driver's license, and was under the influence of alcohol when he lost control of the car.
