Haydar Öztürk - DUVAR
Twenty-six bullet shells were found on the scene of a triple shooting in the northern province of Samsun on Aug. 30, a week after someone was shot dead with a shotgun in front of a district municipality in the province.
While Cengiz Üner, Mustafa Çetin and İhsan Çetin died on the scene, two others were wounded, one of them in critical condition.
One of the shooters named Murat Çetin was detained. Sources told Gazete Duvar that Çetin had been released from jail as part of a recent amnesty law which allowed for early release of about 90,000 prisoners.
Meanwhile, a second assailant identified as K.Ç. is reportedly on the loose.
While the triple murder took place in Samsun's İlkadım district, a 24-year-old was shot dead with a shotgun in front of the province's Canik district municipality last week.
A municipal councilman from Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) was wounded during last week's attack, while one assailant was arrested.
