Police detain 27 people in drug raid in Gaziantep

Police detained a total of 27 people in a drug bust in the southeastern province of Gaziantep, specifically targeting street dealers. Police confiscated guns, shotguns and a variety of illegal substances in the operation.

Police detained 27 people in a drug bust in the southeastern province of Gaziantep, where they also confiscated a variety of drugs including cannabis, methamphetamine and heroin.

Police also obtained 10 guns, three shotguns and seven scales in the raid on Sept. 3.

Some 16 of the 27 people detained were street dealers. The other 11 people are facing charges of possessing, using and trading drugs.

The authorities also fined some 21 drivers a total of 47,158 Turkish Liras ($6,300), as 518 vehicles were searched during the operation.
