The Turkish Competition Authority has launched a probe into more than 20 local and foreign banks over possible violations in foreign exchange and other services.

Turkish media outlets said late on Jan. 17 deposit, credit and brokerage services were also being examined in what they called “preliminary research” by the watchdog, without citing a source.

The Turkish media also did not indicate the names of the banks.

The competition authority’s website listed no new investigations.
