The lira's crash against G10 currencies has dipped to new lows in the past two weeks, but the currency's been weakening for over a month, as Ankara's interventions have proven futile.
Meanwhile, a gram of gold sells for 477 liras in Istanbul, while a quarter gold coin sells for 779 liras.
Turkish Finance Minister Berat Albayrak will discuss the record low lira, a recent Moody's downgrade and prospects for economic recovery from the pandemic fallout in an interview on broadcaster NTV on Sept. 21.
