PodcastHDP confirms postponing Kılıçdaroğlu’s scheduled visit
An official of the HDP has said that the party was the one that postponed a scheduled visit by the opposition bloc’s presidential candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. “Our co-chairs are on the field due to the flood disaster (in the quake zone). Due to the tight program, the demand (for postponement) was made by us,” the HDP official was quoted as saying by daily Birgün.

An official from the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) has confirmed that the HDP was the one that postponed a visit by main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader and opposition bloc’s presidential candidate Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
“Our co-chairs are on the field due to the flood disaster (in the quake zone). Due to the tight program, the demand (for postponement) was made by us,” the HDP official was quoted as saying by daily Birgün on March 17.
The official said that a new date for the meeting has not been yet scheduled but will be shared by the public once it is finalized.
Earlier on March 17, Kılıçdaroğlu was asked by journalists why his visit to the HDP quarters was postponed. In return, Kılıçdaroğlu said: “Do not ask this to me, but the host.”
Kılıçdaroğlu was expected to pay a visit to the HDP on March 18.
On March 17, the HDP released a statement saying that Kılıçdaroğlu’s visit was “postponed to a further date due to the tight program.”
Earlier this month, HDP co-chair Mithat Sancar signalled support for Kılıçdaroğlu’s presidential candidacy by saying they might back him if the two sides agree on “principles.”
