More than 200,000 passengers have arrived in Turkey in the month of June, the first 30 days of the “normalization” process, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said in response to a parliamentary question.

“The number of passengers arriving in Turkey was 233,717 and the number of departing passengers was 104,549,” the minister said about international traffic in June.

Responding to a set of parliamentary questions from Islamist Felicity Party (Saadet) deputy Abdülkadir Karaduman, the minister added that some 4,676 international flights had touched down in Turkey in June, after Turkish Airlines (THY) recommenced international flights on June 11.

The minister also noted that THY is currently operating 320 passenger planes and 18 cargo planes for domestic and international flights at the moment.

Karaismailoğlu failed to answer a question about layoffs within Turkish Airlines.
