Sensitivity for environment and animal rights deemed 'terrorist tendency'

A seminar held by İzmir Police for public servants listed "heightened sensitivity towards environmental issues, animal rights and human rights violations" as the usual qualities exhibited by people with terrorist tendencies. Other qualities included a lack of religious faith and nationalist feelings, being perceptive and spending time on social media.

"Heightened sensitivity towards environmental issues, animal rights and human rights violations" were listed as a quality found in people with terrorist tendencies in a seminar organized by the Izmir Police.

As part of a project called "We Are İzmir," the police force has been holding seminars for public servants. On Feb. 20 a session was held by the Anti-Terror Branch, the BirGün daily reported.

In a presentation about how terrorist organizations gain members, "heightened sensitivity to environmental issues as well as animal and human rights violations" were listed as the usual characteristic of people with terrorist tendencies or of those "distanced from politics and close to anarchy."

The absence of nationalist feelings and a globalist outlook were listed as being related to terrorist tendencies along with the lack religious faith, wanting to become an activist, being perceptive and spending time on social media.
