The administration of the Edirne Prison has censored letters sent by former Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirtaş, his wife Başak Demirtaş said.
Demirtaş shared the pictures of the censored letters on her Twitter, while asking Justice Minister Abdülhamit Gül, "What's next?"
"Face-to-face meetings were lifted. Online meetings were not provided and now there's censorship. What's next?" Demirtaş said on June 3, referring to the measured imposed amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The readable parts of the letter included Selahattin Demirtaş's wishes for the pandemic to end soon.
Demirtaş was arrested on Nov. 4, 2016 on charges related to the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
