Turkish sailors from pirate-attacked ship to return to country

Three Turkish sailors from the ship Mozart that was attacked by pirates will be coming back to their home country, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said. The ship was abducted by pirates with 15 crew members onboard near Nıgeria on Jan. 23, when Bahadır Yeşilalan was injured during the attack.

Three sailors rescued from the ship Mozart after it was attacked by a pirate ship are being transported back to Turkey, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Jan. 29. 

The ship was abducted by pirates with 15 crew members onboard near Nigeria on Jan. 23, including Bahadır Yeşilalan who was injured during the attack.

Yeşilalan's treatment is complete, and he will be boarding a plane from Gabon's capital with other Turkish crew members Furkan Yaren and İlhan Süha Tatlıgül.

The sailors are expected to arrive in Istanbul around 3.30 a.m. on Jan. 30.
