Turks find İmamoğlu as most successful mayor of 2021

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was found to be the most successful mayor of 2021, according to ORC Research. He was followed by Antep Mayor Fatma Şahin from the AKP.

Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu from the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) was found to be the most successful mayor of 2021, according to a survey carried out by ORC Research.

The survey conducted with 12,760 interviews in all districts with a population of more than 100,000 revealed that four out of five most successful mayors are from the CHP, while only one is from the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). 

İmamoğlu was followed by Fatma Şahin, the mayor of the southeastern province of Antep from the AKP. Antalya Mayor Muhittin Böcek ranked third, while Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş and Mersin Mayor Vahap Seçer ranked fourth and fifth, respectively. 

The Istanbul Mayor's success rate was 56.1 percent, while Şahin's was 55.4, Böcek's was 55, Yavaş's was 54.7 and Seçer's was 54.3 percent. 

The research company has also asked participants to evaluate the success of district mayors. Five out of ten most successful mayors are from the CHP, while three are from the AKP.

Mayors from the right-wing Good (İYİ) Party and the far-right Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) ranked fourth and sixth, respectively.
